Site Preparation

Site Preparation

Homes need a good base, and that starts with the site prep. Our equipment allows us to do precision gravel and dirt work at unmatched speeds. The base work is what decides the integrity of your foundation. It’s important to make sure water always drains away from your home. Our experience will ensure this work is top notch to prepare for the rest of the project.

The Right Equipment

Our equipment of choice for base work is a 333G John Deer skid steer on tracks. At a 100 hp, it’s got enough power for us to complete any task, including leveling large piles of gravel quickly. Not only that, its weight on wide tracks naturally packs the gravel we’re laying down, mitigating settling and movement in the base of your home after the job is done. While we mainly use it for gravel work, it gets used in many other operations throughout the day as well.

Precision Grading

A precision grade is important to ensure that all water runs AWAY from your home, not underneath it. If it didn’t you’d end up with a bowl of water under your home, leading to a muddy base, and a settling foundation. This causes your home to settle over time, creating an uncomfortable living environment and the potential for structural damage. We utilize a Level Best precision grading attachment for all of our gravel pads. Using a laser and two receivers, this machine makes hydraulic adjustments 12 times per second to match our predetermined grade to perfection. Not only that, but we can make adjustments on the fly from an app. The point is – the end result is nearly perfect.

Operator Experience

Machines and technology are great. But it still takes an experience operator to make it all happen. Our team has done hundreds of gravel pads. We know what it takes to get the job done faster and better than anyone. On top of that, there are always obstacles to work around and problems to solve. Every job is different, and it’s our experience that allows us to adjust on the fly.

Material Choices

There are many different types of material that might make good candidates for a gravel base, but not all are created equal. On top of that, different types of material may be more or less available depending on your location. Leave it to us to ensure that we’re selecting the most suitable, yet cost effective material to complete your project.

There are so many variables that can affect what the right decisions are when doing gravel and dirt work. These all depend on the project at hand and what you are looking to accomplish. Our expertise in this area is not limited to gravel pads for manufactured homes. Feel free to contact us about any grading work you might need!
